Happy 21st Birthday, Valerie...

Valerie's suprise birthday was not planned until a few hours before her birthday. Everything was actually very last minute but the whole occassion turned out just as well...

Val received a beautiful vase of flower on Sat (Nov 4) morning from this "anonymous" person. In truth, her parents had asked us to get her the flower on their behalf. We wanted it to be of a surprise element, therefore, the anonymousity. Val was very excited and she thought and wondered so much who was the sender. Could it be from her secret admirer? Our "acted-out" reaction added to her curiousity.
















Anyway, 3 of us went to the mall later in the noon to buy her birthday present. On the way, we met Jane, Bin Bin n Jerry n were kinda planning the party in the shuttle. Haha... They would buy the cake n watsoeva not while we try to come up with a surprise plan or at least to distract Val...

"Unfortunately" for us, Val was inviting her friends over for dinner n there was no way for us to distract her or keep her out of the house. So, there was nothing much to plan. Her friends "annoyingly" stayed till very late about 11++ pm. I'm saying annoying only because we couldn't do much n we had no way of communicating or coordinating with them to carry out the surprise. The funny part was they knew about the so called surprise n that's y they were staying till that late. Haha...

We contacted Bin Bin and told them to come anyways. Knock on the door n surprise Val straight. 3 of us were in the room talking to each other through MSN to make the whole thing more interesting just in case it didn't turn out well. So, we came up with weird tasks for Val to do if she wants to know who sent her those flowers. N we had it plan that some guy will walk up to her n confess to her that it was him who sent it while passing to her a card from her family at the same time. Haha...

So, at 12am, Bruce knocked on the door and Tim (instead of Val) opened the door. Val n her friends were watching V for Vendetta with the ceiling as a screen (*shakes head*). After TIm opened the door, the bunch rushed in from behind and started spraying Val with I dunno wat u call those. Spraying stuffs la.. Val ran all the way to the washing machine but was still unable to avoid the cruel punishment. There goes her hair, her clothes n our floor. Haha... We sang happy birthday n Val blew the candle on the cake. Next, we presented her with the tasks to do. We had her draw 1 out of 3 papers n do all the tasks written on it. The truth was we only had 3 tasks n all 3 papers had the same 3 tasks written on it. Hahaha...








No.1 : Kiss every guy in the house.
Val did BUT ON THEIR HANDS! So unsporting of her. SHould have specified cheek.

No.2 : Go to the backyard and sing "You're so vain" from How to lost a guy in 10 days. Change the lyrics from "YOU" to "I".
She did and they made her sang louder by saying "We can't hear u". Haha..
During that time, I pulled Patrick and shoved him into the toilet, passing him a note and card. We wanted him to be the guy who confesses to Val about the flowers. He was suppose to say "Happy Birthday Val. I gave u the flowers" with additional eye contact etc. Patrick was indeed sporting enuf to coorperate with us... hehe...

No.3 : Eat a bowl of rice like a Down Syndrome kid. Rice MUST fall out of mouth.
Val did this as well. Furnee...


After that, Val asked about the flower sender. Jerry dropped a huge hint "somewhere far". 3 of us immediately said NO!!! Haha... then, i just said, the person who sent the flowers pls step forward which of cos Patrick did. He walked over to Val n said those lines and passed her the card. Everyone was like stunned and awed. Screams n Ooo-ing all over place. Val was rather shocked, I would say. She rily believed at that point of time. She even gave Patrick a hug. Before she misunderstood further, we insisted that she opened the card. Next thing u know, the card had a "Daughter" word written on the front page. We started bursting out loud. Hahaha.... Well, the trick worked!

Grace made a delicious muffin. 2 thumbs up! Basically wat happened after that were just cake eating, laughing, talking n more laughing... Don forget picture taking.

Yogi etc. dropped by later to wish Val...
